for Quabbin buffs, this view is from where old route 21 (gate 35) meets the water.
the prominent distant feature is Mount L Island, with the northern tip of Mount Zion Island just to the left.
route 21 connected athol with springfield and the rabbit run railroad line more or less followed 21.
both the highway and the railroad were submerged by the reservoir.
