Porter, Maine.
When driving through Porter on main street (Rt-160) you can drive right by this old dam that once powered a furniture company at this location without even realizing that it's there.
Not many people get to see this waterfall as one has to take a narrow side street to get a decent view of the falls but it's well worth the effort in my opinion.

This hidden water fall stems from an old farm pond abandoned long ago.
Even though it is close beside busy Rt-25 / 117 heading east from Cornish it is barely seen by people, especially when the leaves are on the trees.
Boston Sunstar March 24 2012

The sky became even more dramatic as the sun rose above the horizon and went back behind the bank of clouds. Quite the morning out along the Charles!

Boston Sunrise March 24, 2012
Via Flickr:
I woke up early and couldn't fall back asleep... the story of my life lately. I took advantage of a sky with some nice altocumulus clouds and decided to head down to the Charles to catch the sunrise. It just kept getting better and better with some of the most spectacular scenes a full half hour after sunrise. Another nice morning in our unseasonably warm March here in New England.

Earliest I've ever seen Round Lobed Hepatica in Pawtuckaway was April 3rd. This is 11 days earlier than that...just crazy!
Stormy Skies over the Mt. Washington
Via Flickr:
I took an evening trip around the area and as the sun went down the skies got dark so while passing I stopped at this landmark location for a quick shot.

Eve admires first Garter Snake of the season! Moments after I captured it, I realized that it was being actively stalked by a Northern Black Racer. Caught would be predator as well (see previous photo).

Poplar tree buds bursting out today in the 85 degree temperature,.. crazy record breaking weather for sure.
These will be the last photos I take with my Olympus SP 570 UZ camera as it has decided to stop working and I have no intention of having it repaired or replacing it with another Olympus, I'm done with Olympus cameras as they just do not last very long.

The sun set on the pond today with temperatures in the high 70's, it felt more like summer than spring.

Took a trek up to the Mount Washington Valley today, got a few shots of the mountain, not much snow left and what is, is going fast with the high temps we are having.
Those who ski Tuckermans Ravine are in for a real short season by the looks of the thinning snow pack.

Looking down on West Pond from Rt-160 on this Saint Patrick's Day, much of the ice covering the pond is now giving way to open water.
Again today temps where in the upper 60's, buds on the trees are turning red and swelling and very little snow remains, spring has come an entire month early here in this part of Maine and feels a bit odd.
