This is just crazy, we have one Stargazer Lily plant that has opened already, they never flower before the end of June but this year I guess all bets are off when it comes to when our flowers are going to bloom.
The early warm weather has them blooming at times that they would never normally bloom in.
I should note that we have many other Stargazer Lilies that are acting normally, as in not sending up shoots with flower pods on them yet.

Our Meadow Rue which usually does not bloom until mid to late June is blooming almost three weeks early this year.
It's obvious to those of us who garden that this years early warm weather has thrown our plants bloom cycle timing completely off.

Found another Luna Moth this morning, it was up in the wheel well on the tire of Mothers Subaru.
I had one fly into our entry on the evening of the evening of May 22 nd but this Luna Moth that I found today is a different moth.
What's surprising is that they are out so early, we usually don't see them until late June, early July on up into the fall.

Another attempt at capturing a Hawk Moth / Humming Bee, played with the aperture and shutter settings, probably the best shot out of the series.

Tried again today to get some shots of the Hawk Moths / Humming Bee's that where enjoying the flowers on our Cat Mint.
Talk about a subject that's hard to photograph, these things are always moving making it almost impossible to get a focus on them.

The sky was looking very nice when I woke up so I headed over to the shoreline. I arrived just before the sun crested the east shore hills. I walked right past these flowers hoping for an image down by the water. On second thought, maybe those flowers were there for a reason - hmmmm.
Have a great weekend.

Sunset Along the Androscoggin River
Via Flickr:
Took a drive from Berlin to Milan NH last evening and the weather was perfect and sky was gorgeous. The sun setting behind the mountains provided a perfect reflection in the river.
Day Twenty-Three
Via Flickr:
23/365 Nature Dancing in the Sky - Finally a beautiful colorful sky was displayed above the area to make for some outstanding photo opportunities. One thing about living high in the white mountains is it's rare to get a sky that has any color during the sunset time. This evening was an exception as the sun got lower the sky went pink and with the collection of fluffy clouds made for some beautiful textures and shapes. I took the wife and kids to Milan where we got some reflections in the Androscoggin River looking south.

A Luna Moth flew into our entry as I was going outside this afternoon, I took a couple of shots of it and then returned it to the environment that it belongs in.
It flew off and up into the tops of the trees behind our house and out of sight.

We were treated to a visit by this Compton Tortoiseshell Butterfly today, they are usually very timid and prefer to stay back in the shade of the woods.

A Hawk Moth / Humming Bee was busy visiting our flowering Cat Mint today.
I tried to capture it using the Time Value setting on my camera so I could stop it's wing motion but the photos where coming out very dark,so, I just shot these photos using the AE mode.
