Delta on Ice
Via Flickr:
The ice was thick enough to get out to the point at Delta Beach and catch the last rays.
Yup, just keeping up with the driftwood theme :)
Peace.
A view from the Bridge
Via Flickr:
Went to Berlin yesterday for a wedding and captured a few scenic photos of my old adopted home town. No running water here in this location with the river frozen solid. Ouch it was cold!

26/365 Frozen - Today I saw the moon set and the sun rise and the moon come up again...the temperature dropping by 15 degrees heading north for a winter wedding and you know that it's going to be a long day! On route I had decided to take a moment and stop along the 93 to capture this freezing cold scene. This view is looking north to Franconia Notch. I have noticed it previously but never stopped but made the attempt today. I think the temperature was about 1 degrees Fahrenheit! Now doing a winter wedding is one thing but this happened to be one of the coldest I ever did! It was well worth it because I believe we got some outstanding shots! Will be posting wedding photos on my facebook page shortly!

24/365
Via Flickr:
24/365 Big Wheels - Braving the elements I went out to take a few outdoor photos for a change. I really didn't have to go more than about 1.2 miles from the house to spot this candidate subject. With the wind whipping by and I had my trusted new found G11 with me I flipped open the screen got low and snapped a few shots! Another prime example how you can get creative with these little point and shoot cameras. I did end up going to Lowell, MA to see if I could find anything else and ended up chasing certain views of the beautiful Winter pink sky but it was hard to find a scenic point worth shooting! We should be called 'sky' chasers instead of 'storm' chasers on the weather channel! Only having a 15 minute window with the sky a certain pink color and constantly changing I didn't capture anything I thought would be as good as this first shot I got of the day!! That was long winded so I'm done now. Press 'L' or click on photo to view on black!
Coolidge Snow

This whole Norlun Trough storm thing started out promising last night but amounted to barely a dusting.

With this cold weather, I wonder how long before the Charles freezes over again.

Ring-billed Gull

The gulls were really active at the frozen pond in Forest Park. Here's one flying off with his treat from his human benefactor.

10/365 Manchester, NH - This evening I met a fellow flickr member in Manchester, New Hampshire for a few city shots. I am not too familiar with the city so he was nice enough to show me some spots to get some good pics of the city. We spent a about 2 hours or so shooting into the darkness. I wanted ensure that I shot during the twilight hours into darkness which seems to be a theme for a lot of my 365 day shots so far this year. But I have to say the colors you can get by shooting at this time of day are outstanding. I enjoyed the time and will be getting together sometime again to do it again.

The 2013 I Have To Shoot What?! Challenge for Week 1: New
There's nothing like newly fallen snow, even if it is just a small dusting. That's what I woke up to this morning, and it was all gone an hour after I took some pictures of it...

6/365 Five O'clock Sunset - Trying to beat each days photo is going to get the best of me so far this year and it's only Day 6! My youngest son and I went to the city this evening to get a few shots. Sunday I have discovered is the best time to go there as it's not as busy and you can find reasonable parking. This is on the Longfellow Bridge in Boston. I was hoping for more traffic but unfortunately it was all I got. The shot seems to be in between 'blue hour' and the pink sunset on the right! I got several other shots that easily could have made the 'day' pic.
1/52 - "Our House"
Via Flickr:
Here's my entry for week 1 "Our House" and I decided to head out into the night and take a long exposure of our house. This is my first attempt a year long challenge and I hoping it will keep me motivated and creative with my photography.

5/365 Back at the Barnyard - A crisp not so cold Winter day as I went to the local car wash in Dracut, MA. I had spotted this barn previously but was looking for an opportunity to shoot it...I love old bans and rustic buildings like this...they give off a lot of interesting details and character. With the blue sky and sun lighting I chose this photo because no more than a few seconds later the sun went behind the clouds and totally changed the atmosphere of the photo! A great photo sample from the gear from the previous day...5D MarkIII and the 16-35mm lens. You know you're doing a 365 project when you take your camera to get the car washed!
