indigo buntings at sachuest point today. i ahve been going to this refuge for years and have never seen these birds before. it must be the world and weather changes! these are a treat for any bird watcher.
It's only April 28th and there is already a pronounced greening of the landscape as the hardwood trees leaf out, the foothills leading up to Mount Washington in New Hampshire now ripple with streaks of various shades of green colors.
Another image from my day yesterday hanging out at a fox den. The fox kits slept most of the time I was there, but stirred every now and again...and I always had to be ready to capture moments like this.

Raindrops cluster like jewels on a budding flower on a small tree at Red Wing Farm Conservation Area in Chelmsford, MA.
After a long spell of unusually warm, dry weather it's nice to finally see some rain. And some real signs of spring!
[Looks even nicer viewed large]

West Pond, Parsonsfield, Maine.
Been seeing some Painted Lady butterflies returning to the area already, usually don't see them until the middle of next month.
