GOOD MORNING from The West Island Weather Station at South Point. Sunday, February 16, 2014 at 638AM. A fresh heavy blanket of snow greeted SouthCoast this morning under beautiful clear skies after a hefty Nor'easter sped off leaving 10" of snow on the island and up to a foot elsewhere. The predicted high wind gusts of 50-60 MPH never reached expectations at WIWS, but still peaked at 31 MPH at 102 AM. As many as 7,445 lost power mostly in the Plymouth and Barnstable areas.
